Hey guys! Just popping in to set you all up with another review, courtesy of Adam! Adam’s bio can be found under the Bios tab, so if you want to get to know him, give it a read!

Adam’s review today will cover Marvel’s the Avengers, directed by Joss Whedon and produced by Marvel Studios. This stellar movie enjoyed its world premiere on April 11th and made its debut in the U.S. on May 4th. So far, the Avengers (or Avengers Assemble for most of the world) has raked in an astonishing $1,322,663,980 worldwide and is the fourth highest grossing movie in history. With its box office sales still climbing, the Avengers looks as though it will easily ovetake Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2 and move into the number three slot on that list.

If you haven’t seen this movie yet, I really encourage you to go give it a try. Even if you’re not a huge fan of superhero movies, the Avengers really does have something for everyone. It’s a great film with a great script, a great director, and great actors.

Hell, that sentence didn’t even come close to doing any of them justice. There are no words for this awesome, amazing, fantastic movie.

Alert: major spoilers are below! Do not read if you do not want!

Enjoy the review, kids! And remember, you’re always free to message us here or email us at th3gurus@gmail.com and let us know your thoughts!

Just felt like updating here on Th3 Gurus to share that I’m embarking on an adventure through the Marvel comicverse. Thanks to the Avengers coming out in theaters, I’ve become wonderfully fascinated with finding out everything I can about the Avengers universe and story. I’m especially interested in Iron Man as he is and always has been my absolute favorite superhero. :3
I finished reading Ultimates Vol. 1 & 2 today and am now onto Ultimates 2. I’m really excited to get through this huge volume and learn more about a universe I’ve come to love.
I’ve also got Ultimates 3, Civil War, and Invincible Iron Man stacked up and ready to go. I am dying to start the Invincible Iron Man comics but I’ve been told to wait, to read Ultimates and Civil War first, and that will make Invincible Iron Man even better. That being said, I am practically chomping at the bit for a taste of Tony Stark.
How about you guys? Did the Avengers film prompt you to revisit the comicverse? Have you started reading anything new or old? What would you recommend to Marvel newcomers?
As always, send your answers to us here on Tumblr or via email to th3gurus@gmail.com. We look forward to hearing from you!

I saw it myself on Friday at midnight and I thought is was spectacular. Joss Whedon did an amazing job and I really encourage anyone who hasn’t seen it to go give it a try. You don’t have to be a comic book nerd - this movie really has something for everyone.

I plan on writing up a full review within a couple of days, but my first impressions were very good and this is certainly a strong way to start out this year’s string of summer films. I definitely need to hit the theaters for another viewing.

What did you guys think? Was it awesome? Did it suck? Were there things you would have changed? What would you have stay the same? Did the plot stay true to the comics or did it go its own way? Send your answers in to th3gurus@gmail.com and we’ll feature you on the blog! We do love ourselves some community input! :D

As always, thanks for stopping by, and be prepared for tomorrow’s Meme of the Day.

Much love,
Steph
